The Harvest Fair is an event held every year at the end of August with an emphasis on the annual harvest of the gardens and fields. All the harvesting is done using antique equipment from the park and is done the old fashioned way. The Harvest Fair includes a combination of harvesting, threshing bee and county fair.
There usually is a craft fair, midway rides, baked goods and vegetables sale, games and crafts for the kids.
A special event for the Harvest Fair in 2003 and 2006 was the heavy horse weight pull. Teams of horses had to move a sled of shingles a short distance across the sandy dirt. Absolutely amazing how much power these huge majestic animals can generate.
